The Save the Legacy campaign is simply asking legislators to please re-introduce a Concurrent Resolution to designate May 20th., as

“Negro Leaguers Recognition Day.”

In 1952, more than 150 African-American baseball players, most from the Negro Leagues, had been signed to Major League Baseball. Most of these players are deceased, while never achieving their dream to play in the majors.  The few remaining have been relegated to a position of obscurity.  S.CON.RES.29, proposes “Negro Leaguers Recognition Day,” as a celebration not only for the National Negro Leagues, but all Negro league players as well as their teams...a “ Legacy well worth Saving”...for generations to come.
